Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste at the end of its life. Here you’ll learn how to dispose of old devices correctly – and how we fulfil our obligations under the German Electrical Equipment Act (ElektroG).
- Do not put old devices in household waste – collect them separately.
- Remove batteries and rechargeable batteries beforehand and dispose of them separately.

✅ How to Dispose Correctly
Collect separately
Place old devices separately from household waste in the designated collection and return systems.
Remove batteries & rechargeable batteries
Separate old batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not firmly enclosed by the device before handing it in, and dispose of them separately.
Delete your data
Old devices often contain personal data. As an end user, you are responsible for deleting this data before handing them in.

You can hand in your old electrical devices free of charge at:
- the municipal collection points / recycling centres in your area,
- the established return points – official directory (stiftung ear).
