Description

The 18650 Battery Shield (dual-cell version) is a compact charging and protection module for two 18650 Li-Ion cells that simultaneously acts as a regulated 5 V and 3 V power supply for microcontroller projects.

The module combines charging electronics (TC4056A), a boost converter (FP6298) and a battery protection IC on a single board, delivering two regulated output voltages via a USB-A socket and 3V/5V pin headers. This makes it an excellent choice for powering Arduino, ESP32 and ESP8266 projects on the go – without any additional circuit design.

Notes

Observe correct polarity: The board is marked with + and −. Inserting the batteries with incorrect polarity will permanently destroy the module. Always double-check polarity before use.

Not suitable for charging smartphones: The module does not support any charging negotiation protocol and cannot charge mobile phones.

Deep-sleep operation (e.g. ESP32): In NORMAL mode, the module may shut off when current draw is very low. In HOLD mode the output remains active, but may still cut out during extremely low-current deep-sleep states.
